Playlist Funtime

I found a new site today. This could be fun. I upload 8 songs that I think would make a cool play list, and they make a little player for me to share with you. Let me know what you think. And now a random image.

Press play and judge me. Harshly.

Happy

Animal Collective, Webster Hall

Animal Collective, Webster Hall

[via FoxyTunes / Animal Collective]

I have been listening to these gents for a few years and am hypnotized by the new album. There is a little bit of Flaming lips mixed with Beach Boys amongst other influences. This tune is becoming a fav off the new disc for me. The chorus makes me happy. It may take a couple listens for the poison to take effect. Its worth the commitment...

Artist: Animal Collective
Song: Bluish

I’m getting lost in your curls
I’m drawing pictures on your skin
So soft it twirls
I like your looks when you get mean
I know I shouldn’t say so but when you
Claw me like a cat, I’m beaming
I like the way you squeeze my hand
Pulling me into another dream
A lucid dream
I’m getting lost in your curls
I’m getting crushed out on the things
that only I should see
Not for boys, they’re just for me

Hurry to talk, from far away
I can see you, you curl your fists and you pull your hair
When we’re alone, I wanna say
Let’s just stay in, no one’s here in our apartment babe

(Put on the dress that I like)
It makes me so crazy, though I can’t say why
(Keep on your stockings for a while)
Some kind of magic in the way you’re lying there

I’m getting lost in your curls
I’m getting rushed back on a whim
Our breaths get wind
Back to the time when we were green
I know we have changed
But I still grin cause I can’t wait to see you
Back to the time I touched your hair
When I was so scared to look that mean
I think it’s weird
I’m getting lost in your curls
I’m getting crushed out on the things
That only I should see
They’re not for boys, they’re just for me

Girl, you can talk from far away
It’s so hard for me
Only to get the urge to kiss you there
When we’re alone, I wanna say
Let’s just stay in, no one’s here in our apartment babe

(Put on the dress that I like)
It makes me so crazy, though I can’t say why
(Keep on your stockings for a while)
Some kind of magic in the way you’re lying there
(repeat)

I am tired

Jenny Lewis

Jenny Lewis

[via FoxyTunes / Jenny Lewis]

Jenny's voice is heaven. I love how this song is like a confession. She makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up and...daddy likey. Hope you enjoy.

Artist: Jenny Lewis and The Watson Twins
Song: Acid Tongue

I went to a cobbler

To fix a hole in my shoe

He took one look at my face

And said, "I can fix that hole in you"

I beg your pardon

I'm not looking for a cure

Seen enough of my friends

In the depths of the godsick blues

You know I am a liar

You know I am a liar

Nobody helps a liar

Because I've been down to Dixie

And dropped acid on my tongue

Tripped upon the land

Until enough was enough

I was a little bit lighter

And adventure on my sleeve

I was a little drunk

And looking for company

So I found myself a sweetheart

With the softest of hands

We were unlucky in love

But I'd do it all again

We build ourselves a fire

We build ourselves a fire

But you know I am a liar

You know I am a liar

And you don't know what I've done

By the rolling river is

Exactly where I was

There was no simple cure

For unlucky in love

To be lonely is a habit

Like smoking or taking drugs

And I've quit them both

But man, was it rough

Now I am tired

It just made me tired

Let's build ourselves a fire

Let's build ourselves a fire

Respect

Etwas Hoeheres by Wolfgang Wildner

Etwas Hoeheres by Wolfgang Wildner

[via FoxyTunes / Aaron Neville]

In light of my first trip to the Big Easy last weekend I wanted to post the song that constantly ran through my head as I walked the streets. I had an inspirational visit. Great way to start the year. I am including some photos from the trip for your enjoyment.

Artist: Aaron Neville
Song: Louisiana 1927 - Written by Randy Newman

What has happened down here is the wind have changed
Clouds roll in from the north and it started to rain
Rained real hard and rained for a real long time
Six feet of water in the streets of Evangeline

The river rose all day
The river rose all night
Some people got lost in the flood
Some people got away alright
The river have busted through cleard down to Plaquemines
Six feet of water in the streets of Evangelne

CHORUS
Louisiana, Louisiana
They're tyrin' to wash us away
They're tryin' to wash us away
Louisiana, Louisiana
They're tryin' to wash us away
They're tryin' to wash us away

President Coolidge came down in a railroad train
With a little fat man with a note-pad in his hand
The President say, "Little fat man isn't it a shame what the river has
done
To this poor crackers land."

CHORUS

Here are some photo's from my 1st look at Nawlins...
