Last year I discovered Ms. Cat Power. She has a way of singing a song that hearkens back to the olden days, with lyrics that are very contemporary. She has a presence. Piano and a soulful voice. I also love that her backing band on this album were the guys that backed up Otis Redding. She has a good sense of history with a modern slant is what I'm trying to say. Enjoy...
